The main cold-bed type of seamless steel pipe production line includes single-chain cooling bed, double-chain cooling bed, new-type chain cooling bed, stepping rack-type cooling bed and screw-type cooling bed.

1, single-chain cooling bed

Most single-chain cooling beds use climbing structures. The cooling bed consists of a forward transport chain and a fixed guide rail with a transmission system. The steel pipe is placed between the two grippers of the forward transport chain, and the fixed rails bear the weight of the steel pipe body. The single-chain cooling bed uses the thrust of the forward transport chain finger and the friction of the fixed guide rails to make the steel pipe generate rotational motion. At the same time, the steel pipe always abuts on the claws of the forward transport chain by relying on the self-weight of the steel pipe and the lifting angle. To achieve smooth rotation of the steel pipe.

2, double-chain cooling bed

The double-chain cooling bed consists of a forward transportation chain and a reverse transportation chain, and each of the forward and reverse chain has a transmission system. The steel pipe is placed between the two grippers of the forward transport chain, and the reverse chain takes up the weight of the steel pipe body. The double-chain cooling bed utilizes the thrust of the claws of the forward transport chain to move the steel pipe forward, and the friction force of the reverse chain causes the steel pipe to generate a continuous rotating motion. The movement of the reverse chain also makes the steel pipe always rest on the claws of the forward transport chain, achieving smooth rotation and uniform cooling.

3, new type of chain cooling bed

Combining the characteristics of a single-chain cooling bed and a double-chain cooling bed, the cooling bed is divided into an uphill section and a downhill section. The uphill section is a double-chain structure consisting of a forward transportation chain and a reverse transportation chain. The forward and reverse actions make the steel pipe continue to rotate forward and make climbing movements. The downhill section is a single-chain structure in which the forward transportation chain and the steel pipe guide rails are arranged in parallel, and the rotation is achieved by relying on its own weight, making the landslide movement.

4, stepping rack cooling bed

The stepping rack type cooling bed is composed of two sets of racks. One is assembled on a fixed beam and is called a static rack. The other is assembled on a moving beam and is called a movable rack.

When the mechanism is actuated, the movable rack rises to lift the steel pipe. Due to the inclined angle, the steel pipe rolls along the tooth shape once it is lifted. After the movable gear is raised to the highest position, the stepping mechanism moves the movable rack forward one step toward the cooling bed output direction. The lifting mechanism continues to move, driving the rack to descend and putting the steel tube into the fixed rack tooth slot. The steel pipe rolls once along the tooth profile of the fixed rack, and then the movable rack returns to the initial position to complete a working cycle.

5, screw type cooling bed

The screw cooling consists of a main transmission, a screw, and a fixed cooling pedestal. The screw includes a screw rod core and a screw helix. The working surface of the fixed cooling platform is higher than the screw core and below the helix, and the weight of the steel tube body is borne by the fixed cooling platform. The main drive unit drives the screw to rotate synchronously, and the spiral on the screw pushes the steel pipe to roll forward on the fixed cooling stand for cooling.

Single-chain cooling bed is not suitable for discontinuous operation. The effect of double-chain cooling bed is better. The new chain cooling bed has good effect and low cost. Stepping rack cooling bed is generally used in large-scale or high-profile production lines. Screw-type cooling beds are generally used to cool smaller diameter steel pipes.
